Approx. address for this drive-in was 1419 Asheville Highway.
Here it is 2012 and my Cousin has gotten nothing together sorry for the tease.
Talked to my cousin, Ray. He is suppose to be getting up stories on this Drive-in and the other theatres in town,can’t wait to get them on,all the old employees meet every wednesday for a get together at dinner,none are on line and don not mess with computers and such, so hope he can write down the stories.

July 21 1978 sees “HARPER VALLEY PTA” playing with “THE GREAT TEXAS DYNAMITE CHASE”,of course there is a FREE XXX Midnight Show Friday and Saturday.
Nov.30 1978 sees “BOOT HILL” and “CHEERLEADERS BEACH PARTY” what crazy double feature.
Dec.1 1978 “TEAM MATE” and “SUPER CHICKS” opens,XXXX Show friday and Saturday after the regular features.

Mike…don’t think I’ve ever heard of “The Body Shop” but it sounds sorta gruesome! Since you could meet the “stars” of the film do you know if it was produced locally?
June 23 1972 HENDERSONVILLE OUTDOOR CINEMA is playing HORROR beyond Belief! “THE BODY SHOP” second Feature NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and Third feature on Friday and Saturday is “WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH HELEN?” “THE BODY SHOP” was presented in 4 DIMENSION for extreme Realism. On Saturday night they played the “BODY SHOP” at the CAROLINA 1 so folks in Hendersonville could MEET THE STARS!!! It certainly wasn’t Peter Cushing or Christopher Lee.
These kinds of ads are pricless and our papers use to be filled with them.

I don’t know anything about headers ,but it closed as HENDERSONVILLE OUTDOOR CINEMA, The JOY DRIVE In , In Hendersonville closed as JOY OUTDOOR CINEMA,I think the owners were trying to give it a jazzy sound. Still a Drive-in theatre.
My goof,Ray Hutto knows alot about Augusta,Georgia theatres but i don’t think Hendersonville . Ray Rogers was my source on The HENDERSONVILLE OUTDOOR CINEMA. Too many pages,Got my Rays mixed up.
