The Princess Theatre was opened prior to 1926 when it had 350 seats. Around 1940 it was renamed Pem Theatre with seating listed at 320.
The theatre closed in 1955 along with its sister theatre down the street. It is now the offices of Edward Jones.

The Pem Theatre closed sometime in the late 60’s or early 70’s. I was the Saturday matinee projectionist in 1962-1963.
I believe Ed Malone was the original owner and later Harold Krenz, the gentleman I worked for.
The Pen theater was originally named the Princess Theater and owned by Sophie Burkhardt. In the early 1940’s it was purchased by Ed Malone who changed the name to the Pem Theater. It was later sold to Paul Ayotte, who later served as mayor of Wabasha. It was finally sold to Harold Krenz who operated it until it was closed.
