Cinema was late coming to Harlech. It was not until 1952 before the Kinematagraph Weekly Yearbook mentions briefly the Castle Cinema name and the fact that the owner was a Mr. G. Wynne of Nefyn. The KWY also stated that films were shown once nightly with matinees on Wednesday and Saturdays and that sound was provided by an Imperial sound system.
By the 1960’s Mr. G. Lee of Harlech had taken ownership. The Castle Cinema closed in 1966 and went to be used as an amusement arcade before eventually being demolished.
