Located on Highway 74 East, the Skyview Drive-In(later known as the Sky-Vue), was one of the two drive-in theatres that were established in the Rockingham area serving the entire areas of Richmond County and nearby towns including Hamlet going East, and as far West as Wadesboro and even further down toward the areas of South Carolina.
The drive-in opened in 1949 with a car capacity of 250 cars. It was a very huge drive-in theatre and one of the largest within the entire county. The Sky-Vue closed in 1980, and was demolished to make way to new shopping plaza.
The drive-in was not very far from the Richmond Plaza Shopping Center.

Approx. address for this drive-in was 714 E Us 74 Hwy. There are NOT Walmart OR a car dealership at this shopping center.
BTW: I seriously doubt Fatz OR Andy’s Burgers are seafood restaurants.
In 1949, this one advertised as the Sky-Vu without an “e”.
