The Colonial Theatre was located at 84 Middlesex Street in the Odd Fellows building. It was opened in 1911 by the Colonial Theater Corporation and operated until 1925.
The existing building thought to be constructed on the site of the Odd Fellows building appears to be the original structure though heavily renovated.

Where there really Odd Fellows at this building? Thanks agian J.V.
It’s a strange name, but evidently a popular organization. There wee also Odd Fellow buildings in both Lawrence and Haverhill.
This was the one in Lawrence, near the Opera House there. http://www.pbase.com/jroy/image/122772181
The Odd Fellows was a social organization with chapters in various cities and towns. They were active at least into the 1950s and maybe later. The club name was certainly “odd” !
The Colonial in Lowell is listed in the 1927 Film Daily Yearbook as having 691 seats and open daily. As this theater was supposedly closed after 1925, the FDY may be in error.
The “New England Notes” column in the November 5, 1910, issue of The Moving Picture World had this item:
The November 26 issue of the same publication said that the Colonial Theatre was doing good business with pictures, songs, and vaudeville, and described it as “…a neat, cosy house with good all around facilities for business.”
