Opened on 4th May 1922 with a seating capacity for 2,700. The facade had a large wide arch over the entrance, which was glazed, containing five windows that allowed light into the foyer. Above this was the name ‘Cine-Odeon’ in the stonework.
By 1937, the seating capacity had increased to 2,999, and further increased by 1945 to 3,084 and again by 1955 when the capacity was listed as 3,942. The Cine Odeon had closed by 1971.
