News About This Theater

Opened by Apex Theatres on 15th December 1966 with Henry Fonda in “Battle of the Bulge” presented in D-150 70mm. It was equipped with a Cinerama system. This elegant single screen theatre was one of Bangkok’s most popular theatres with a a plush, elegant interior and a giant curved screen.

It was one of a number of theatres destroyed in the riots in the city on 19th May 2010. It was set on fire and the remains were later demolished.

The opening attraction was “Battle of the Bulge;” based on the online translation of the pages on the theater’s website and the picture of the auditorium (see above, if it still is working), it would appear that this theater showed 70mm Cinerama productions.
