The Moon-Light Drive-In was one of two drive-ins in this East Georgia town located below Augusta. It was adventure watching a big feature at the Moon-Light Drive-In in the hot summer nights battling Georgia gnats was one thing only a local could handle. Thank goodness the fall line below Augusta keeps most of those bugs away, but that is part of going to the Drive-in isn’t it.

The Moon-Light Drive-In parked 225 cars making it the smallest of the two drive-ins in Millen. It was owned by Duncan&Altman. Have no real idea when it closed, but by the late-1950’s and early-1960’s, a lot of smaller drive-ins in Augusta and towns like Millen were losing screens most likely to television.

There was a drive-in about 3 miles south of Millen, in a town called Emmalane. This easily could have been one of the two Millen drive-ins.

Chuck, I would conclude that the Moon-Light in Millen and the Moon-Light in Emmalane are the same drive-in. The towns are only about 4 miles apart, and having two drive-ins with the same name so close together is not likely.

It should also be mentioned that Emmalane is more of a point on a map than a real town, and it was not unusual for drive-ins to go under the name of a nearby populated town, rather than the town where they were physically located.

Ok so going by the above comments this drive-in was located at GA 23 & GA-67, Emmaline GA 30442. The former site is now an empty lot but can be seen in 1970 and 1972 aerial photos but looked closed.
