Plaza Cinema

The Queen’s Hall Picture Palace was opened on 11th December 1911. It became the first cinema in Deal to screen ‘talkies’, when equipped for sound from 16th June 1930, and its name was changed to Plaza Cinema.

The Plaza Cinema was closed on 2nd January 1937, to be converted into a tailor’s shop. The building still stands on the High Street toay, now sub-divided into 4 retail units.
