Another small Georgia Drive-In parking only 150 cars. In 1950 it was operated by Interstate Enterprises. In 1956 it was run by Gardner and Julian.

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in.

Here is a 1952 aerial photo of the drive-in, courtesy of Earth Explorer and USGS.

Also, I believe this drive-in operated under the name “Star Drive-In.”

Thomasville Rd & Dixie Rd, Quitman, GA 31643

The above address will map better to the location of the drive-in, which was on the north side of Dixie Rd, just west of the intersection with Dixie Rd.

According to a small item in Billboard Magazine, September 2, 1950, the Board of Commissioners of Brooks County on August 26 granted the Quitman Drive-in on Thomasville Road a permit to show movies on Sundays.

Weird that being in Billboard,you’d think Boxoffice.Guess it wasn’t all Music in those days.
