The Arvin Theatre was opened in 1937 with 500 seats. It was designed by architect Clifford A. Balch. It was destroyed by fire in July 1939 (although the theatre is still listed as open in 1941 and 1943 editions of Film Daly Yearbook).

A new Arvin Theatre was opened in 1949 (according to 1949-1950 edition of Theatre Catalog) and this 654-seat theatre was designed by architects William Glenn Balch and Louis L Bryan. It was listed as operating in the 1950 and 1952 editions of Film Daily Yearbook.
