The Family Drive-In opened on July 26, 1950 with Maria Montez in “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves”. It had a capacity for 790 cars. The concession stand building had concessions on the first floor and the projection booth on the second floor. The second floor also contained a 40-seat indoor theatre, and the theatre offices.
