In 1941, a former garage & store were converted into the 750-seat Shard Theatre. It was designed by Carthage, Ohio based architect Charles B. Levinson. The single story facade had an attractive triangular shaped marquee attached.

The Shard Theatre was still operating in 1950 when it was operated by Mid-States Theaters Inc.
