This was opened by Llamas theatres on October 17th, 1946. Grand opening ad posted.

[Reposting] I don’t recall the Lux ever being listed among the Wometco Commonwealth theaters, and I have no clue if it was owned by Llamas. This one venue’s history might remain an obscure one.

I’m under the impression the Lux burned down and the remaining structure was afterwards demolished.

Bob: The best location I can describe is Ponce de Leon Avenue, between Robles and Arzuaga streets, in Rio Piedras. If you drove southbound on Ponce de Leon, the theater was on your left.

Sure could use an address or crossroad, more info, and photos.

I don’t think it was ours (Commonwealth) because the first thing I did every morning was to check the movie ads, including the cartelera of the neighborhood houses, to make sure there were no mistakes and I don’t remember the Lux in the cartelera. So it must have been Llamas.

I had completely forgotten about the Lux. Never went there. I don’t even remember if it was owned by Commonwealth or Llamas.

I distinctly remember what an eyesore this theater was. The whole facade was grayish/light blue, and the non-functional marquee was simply painted over in that color.
