A sore spot for the citizens of Lakeland, FL., was the Lakeland Cinema running XXX features. It opened on January 22, 1972 with Chri Rostand in “Penthouse Party Girl” & James Brand in “Harvey Swings”.. Box Office opened at 11:45 am every day except Sunday when they opened at 2:00pm. One of the classics playing was "Analyze Your Sex". It was closed in May 1972.

Didn’t want to include it.Sure it’s no Cinema Treasure,but have noticed so many X-rated theatres,maybe in another life it was a decent theatre.

The site is now the Puerto Rican/hispanic Chamber of Commance of Polk County INC.
Adult Cinema, Inc. opened the Lakeland Cinema (adult not in its moniker) on January 22, 1972 with Cheri Rostand in “Penthouse Party Girl” and James Brand in “Harvey Swings.” The local authorities would shut down the short-lived venue in May and Adult Cinema, Inc. would soon decide to give up the fight. And just checking the listings, the fare presented at the Lakeland Cinema consisted of X-Rated films of the porno chic era and not the unrated and even more controversial XXX film titles.
