Located in the south London district of Walworth. The Montpelier Picture Palace was operating by 1910, and continued until around 1914. It was operated by George Edwards, of the Edwards Imperial Bioscope. By 1926 it was part of the Shipman & King circuit. Variety acts were added to the programme. The stage was 15 feet deep and there were two dressing rooms.
By 1930 it had been taken over by an independent operator Montpelier Cinema Ltd. and was re-named Montpelier Cinema. It was equipped with a Mihaly sound system.
