A 1959 aerial of the drive-in, located on the north side of HWY-20 and the airport does not show a screen in place.

The outline, ramps, ticket booth, projection booth/snack bar are there, but no screen. And no indication of any screen foundation or structure.

In addition, the entrance/exit roads actually look more complete in a 1971 aerial, including what appears to be structures near the connection points to the highway. But still no screen or any indication that a screen was ever there.

For all the world this looks like a drive-in that was never completed.

One more curious aspect in both photos is a road/trail that runs alongside the drive-in on its west side that curls in, then goes straight north about where the screen should be. In other words, the screen itself if it existed would have to sit immediately next to the road/trail.

If this is the drive-in, then it was either never completed or closed well before 1959 with all traces of the screen removed, but nothing else.

Boxoffice, Sept. 22, 1951: “Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Latimore opened their new drive-in at Arco, Ida., in record time after start of construction. The owners of the new theatre are calling it the Motor-Vu”

I like all the weird shaped areas(Possibly turf grass farms?) around this Drive-In theater that have that drive-in theater shape. They would be some huge drive-in theaters.

Not sure if Google has changed the mapping but a more accurate address street number is 3156 US-93.

3200 U.S. 93, Arco, ID 83213

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in, which is visible on Google Earth.

Out by the airport appears to be the remains of a small drive-in. Although it appears less visible in older GE images.

PLEASE CHANGE ZIP TO:

83213

82312 is wrong and so the Map shows the entire United States, not very helpful.

Open ~1955-~1964? can anyone verify the exact dates?

More info and photos are always welcome.
