The Marion Theatre was opened July 22, 1929. It was a very old theatre with a balcony. Closed in the 1960’s, it was bought by Belks and converted into an annex of their store. Should have been saved.

OPENED JULY 22, 1929
This theater is still standing and worth a look inside. It’s been extensively remodeled but the lobby area gives a glimpse of how grand the space was. The balcony has been leveled to serve as retail space and is currently a consignment store. The lower level is a custom upholstery furniture store.
