Located in Stanton Hill to the north of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. The Stanton Hill Cinema was opened in 1923. It was independently operated.
By 1947 the Stanton Hill Cinema was operated by the S. Graham Circuit of Nottingham. The Levin’s Circuit took over in around December 1954, and it was re-named Rex Cinema. It was closed on 27th June 1959 with Guy Madison in "Beast of Hollow Mountain" and Robert Wagner in "A Kiss Before Dying". It immediately became a Lucky Ways Bingo Club, later becoming a Walkers Bingo Club, which closed in 1987. The building stood empty and unused until at least 1991. Since then it has been demolished and the site is now a car park for a newly built Netto supermarket.

An undated auctioneers describes a freehold ex Bingo Hall for development. Approx 320 seats on ground and first floor. Site frontage 64 ft, Built frontage 55 ft and built depth 104 ft.
I now discover the auction catalogue was dated March, 1989 and has an exterior photo of the Rex.
After 2016 the supermarket is a Cooperative Food supermarket.
