Open ~1945? Can anyone verify the exact dates?

Need a better address. Map goes to the Southeast United States and Caribbean.

More info and photos are always welcome.

From google maps comes this recent street view of the 100 block of N. Main St. One of these old structures once housed the State Theatre, but not exactly sure which building.

Pan right on above link, the first 89re Theatre was located on the now vacant lot between the law office and Loves. The State Theatre must have been inside the tan brick building, with rust trim.

If 100 N. Main Street is the correct address for the State Theatre, and if Kingfisher has not altered its numbering system since that address was published, then the theater had to have been at the south end of the block, probably on the parking lot next to what is now Snider’s Catering, which is at 102 N. Main (Royce was probably using “across the street” rather loosely.) Obviously, if that’s where it was then it has been demolished.

The State Theatre opened on December 2, 1936 with Irene Dunne in “Show Boat” (unknown if any extras added), and closed on April 26, 1941.
