Located in Ararat, a town west of Melbourne. The Midland Theatre was opened in the 1930’s. Seating was provided in stalls and circle on a stadium plan, with a stepped raised section at the rear.

Today it operates as the 3-screen Astor Cinema. It is a Heritage Listed building.
