The Newgate Cinemas were opened August 1, 1982. Seating was listed at 849. The theatre was located at the Newgate Mall in Ogden. In later years it was a discount second-run theatre.
Cinemark closed the theatre on January 12, 1997 and it was demolished and replaced it with a 14 screen Tinseltown USA.
