The Hearst Castle Theater opened in August 1996 as a 420 seat iWerks theatre with a five story screen. The theatre shows exclusively the 39 minute “Hearst Castle: Building a Dream”, every 45 minutes, to tourists waiting for their tour of Hearst Castle. The film is included in the tour 1 ticket.
The theatre is operated by Destination Theater Inc. They own a number of other large format cinemas at tourist destinations.
