The McGuire Theatre was originally built to serve McGuire Air Force Base and now serves the entirety of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst after McGuire AFB, Fort Dix, and Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst were merged into one installation in 2009.
The theatre began renovations in November 2008 and reopened December 6, 2009. The improvements to the interior included fabric walls with cherry wood wainscot bases, concession cabinets, ramps and a refinished stage. Exterior renovations include new walkways, ramps, underground drainage, a standing-seam metal roof and parking spaces. The total cost of the renovations was $2,170,500.

When I was in the Army back in the 1960’s there were three theatres on the Fort Dix post, The Timmerman, which was a modern venue which could have been a focal point of any town, and two others, of the military type. Would be nice if someone could get info on these.
According to their website this theater is only open two days a week (Friday and Saturday) with only one showing per day at 19:00 hours (7:00pm).
According to the Base Directory this is listed as the JB McGuire Movie Theatre (JB standing for Joint Base). It serves the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst complex and is located at 2909 Tuskegee Airmen Avenue, McGuire AFB, NJ 08641. Tuskegee intersects with East Arnold listed in the basic information. Phone is 609-723-8320. Theatre has been updated for 3D (from the price schedule) and is currently closed because of the pandemic restrictions.
FYI McGuire AFB was originally part of Ft. Dix in the days when there was no separate Air Force but rather the Army Air Corps.
