Llashmar Drive-In was located in cottage country and depended on summer vacationers for much of its business. It was opened on June 26, 1952 with June Haver in “The Daughter of Rosie O'Grady”. On April 26, 1956 it was renamed Brownie’s Drive-In. It was closed on September 5, 1988.

Listowel resident and Dairyman Bob Marshall opened Huron County’s first drive-in theater on June 26, 1952 with June Haver in “The Daughter of Rosie O'Grady” along with an unnamed cartoon and a newsreel. This started life as the Llashmar Drive-In.
Marshall operated the theater until the husband-and-wife team of Lorne and Margaret Brown took over the theater and was renamed Brownie’s Drive-In on April 26, 1956, relaunching with Gregory Peck in “Purple Plain” along with an unnamed cartoon. For the next 32 years afterward, the Brownie’s was a family business, and during its later years, Lorne and Margaret’s son, Steve, and his sons operated the drive-in until its final closure on September 5, 1988.
