Starlight Theatre & Cafe is a bar and restaurant. It has 35mm projection equipment in a separate room that seats 90 people. It shows first run movies with show times 7:30 and 9:30 PM daily. It claims to be the only year-round movie theater on Nantucket. The auditorium has red velvet interior and looks like a typical small movie theater. Sound leaks between the bar and theater.
It is located about one block from the Dreamland Theater restoration. How that will affect Starlight Theatre & Café when it opens is unknown. However Dreamland Theater will be a non-profit performing arts venue rather than a full-time movie theater.
I discovered this theater while on a vacation cruise. It was closed on December 29, 2017.
