The Sunset Drive-In was located in the town of Greenport, NY in Columbia County. It is listed as Hudson, NY, and was opened on 29th July 1948. I saw “Bell, Book and Candle”, Some Like It Hot", “13 Ghosts” and the previews for Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho”, there in my youth. It was a seasonal Hudson Valley summer drive-in theater. It was closed in 1990.
Approximately 12 years ago, I spotted the remnants of the steel screen supports, gravel pathways and a few speaker mounting poles. The area is now completely reclaimed by forestry, evergreens, etc. and nothing can be viewed from the roadway. Recently, it was difficult to spot evening knowing the area and local landmarks.
The property is still owned by the Sunset Motel and Suites-3550 US-9 (Albany Post Road), Hudson, NY 12534 which is situated diagonally across from the old theater site on the opposite side of the Route 9. Next door or utilizing part of the old theater’s lot is the also now defunct, but relatively new Sunset Farmer’s Market building.
I received this information from one of the decedents of the originally family owners running the motel while staying at the Sunset Motel several years ago. The motel and surrounding lands are still under the ownership of the same family. Unfortunately, there was no photograph of the actual drive-in available.
Any photos or additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Map marker is VERY far away from Hudson.
Opened on 29/7/1948, and closed in 1990.
The projection booth/concession stand existed until at least 1994, but by 2004 it had been removed.
Today, there is no trace of the drive-in.
