Later operated by Cineplex Odeon.
Canadian Odeon Theatres opened this cinema on January 30, 1981, with the following films: “The Incredible Shrinking Woman,” “The Jazz Singer,” and “The Mirror Crack’d.” On December 3, 1999, the cinema switched to showing Indian films, opening with “Thak Shak” (Hindi), “Dillagi” (Hindi), and “Hum Saath Saath Hain” (Hindi with English subtitles). On February 11, 2000, it switched back to normal American films. Its final operating day was November 2, 2000, with its final films including “The Perfect Storm,” “Gladiator,” and “Dinosaur.”
The area was always housing. The building that once housed the Centennial Cinemas is now a Party City. Anyone who saw movies here would recognize it immediately. The theater had a brief life as an Indian cinema.
