Astor Theatre

The Astor Theatre was opened on September 2, 1939. It was built for and operated by the small Martina Circuit. The Streamline Moderne style facade was covered with tiles (possibly Vitrolite) and had a triangular marquee over the entrance. All seating was on a single level. It was still operating in 1962.

Today, the building is in use as Louie’s Lounge, minus the tiled facade which now has a plain stucco rendering, and the addition of a peaked roof, but the marquee remains the same.
