Located close to the main railway station in the centre of Santander. The huge Cine Coliseum was opened in 1933. The building was destroyed by a fire in 1952.
It was rebuilt to the same designs, reopening in 1953. In later years it was converted into a 3-screen cinema, which closed in 1999.
The building has been converted into a hotel operated by the Silken Hotels group and is known as the Silken Coliseum Hotel, which retains the Art Deco facade of the former cinema.
