Opened in 1928, the Cine Suipacha was designed not only for film screenings but also for orchestral concerts. The Cine Suipacha was completely renovated by architect Alberto Bourdon at the end of the 1930’s when Clemente Lococo took the management of the venue.
In 1994 it was renamed Cine Tita Merello complex honouring one of the greatest tango singer-actress of the city, and divided in three screens devoted to Argentina cinema. In the hands of Instituto Naciuonal de Cinematografía (National Institute for the Cinema) it has remained closed since 30th June 2010.
