The General Cinemas Vintage Faire Cinemas opened on November 11, 1977 with four screens. The Modesto Bee described its location in relation to the mall, which opened the previous year, as being at the southeast corner of Dale Road and Sisk Road. The Modesto Bee noted in 1994 that the Harris Theatre Group had operated the cinema for the previous five years. The Harris Theatre Group, helmed by Phil Harris, later became known as Signature Theatres.
In 1998 Signature Theatres planned to build 16 screens at the mall. This plan fell apart when Brenden Theatres, who was building downtown, sued the city of Modesto over this project. Signature Theatres closed the outdated Vintage Faire 4 Cinemas in June of 1999. As a consolation prize the Signature chain upgraded and opened the old Festival Cinemas on McHenry Boulevard in 2001.
The Vintage Faire Cinemas were later demolished to make room for a Circuit City store, which opened in 2002 and closed in 2009. In 2012 Dick’s sporting goods occupies the site.
