The Grand Theatre was opened prior to 1913 when it was remodeled. By 1941 it was operated by R.B. Wilby, a subsidiary of Paramount Pictures Inc. It was closed around 1957.

The Grand Theatre was listed at 208 19th Street, Bessemer, in the 1920 Birmingham telephone directory.
This theatre is demolished.
The December 13, 1913 issue of The Moving Picture World had this item: “Bessemer, Ala.—J. A. Snider is having his Grand Theater remodeled.”
Bhamwiki says that the Grand Theatre closed after 1957, and features a photo with the 1956 release “Lust for Life” on the marquee. For some reason the Grand was not listed in the 1954 Bessemer telephone directory, though its smaller sister theater down the street, the State, was.
