The Bijou Theatre was originally located in the Jefferson Building on Narcissus Avenue. It was later moved to the corner of Myrtle Street (today renamed Clematis Street) and was known as Kettler’s Bijou Theatre, opening in 1907.

The Bijou Theatre was listed in the 1914-1915 edition of American Motion Picture Directory (no address given). Kettler’s Bijou Theatre was demolished in August 1923, and the Kettler Theatre, later Palms Theatre, was built on the site.

A small photo of Carl Kettler’s second Bijou Theatre, dated July 30, 1923, just before it was demolished, can be seen on this web page.
