This photo was lifted from my website by Ray Plummer. The photo can be seen at my site.. www.drive-inthruwisconsin.com. You can see my name at the bottom of the pic which was then photoshoped out. Shame on you Ray Plummer. Give credit where credit is due.
I am not the person who placed this photo on the sight. I only wrote the information about the theatre. Someone else placed the photo here.
Technically, the o-zoner’s correct name is the Hi-Way 26 Outdoor Theatre and was launched by the Badger Outdoor Theatre Company on June 21, 1949. On Historic Aerials, using 3024 Milton Ave., Janesville, WI 53545 and going back to Topos for 1964/72/77 shows the Drive-In.
Grand opening of the Highway 26 was on June 21, 1949 with “River Lady”, starring Rod Cameron and Yvonne DeCarlo.
The address for this theater is 3000 Milton Ave, Janesville, WI 53545. This points directly to the entrance road now Woodman’s Plaza.
Please update.
Also opened with lastest news, cartoons(not named), and shorts(not named).
It Could Have Been Closed Sometime In The 1970s Or 1980s. The Drive-In Was Not There In 1992.
