The inaugural Motion Picture Almanac drive-in list, in the 1950-51 edition, included only the Starlite for Roswell, capacity 450, owner Theatre Enterprises. That last bit makes me wonder whether it might have opened as the Valley.

Boxoffice, Aug. 21, 1948: “ROSWELL, N. M. – Construction work was under way on the new $125,000 Valley Drive-In, being erected near the Roswell city limits by Theatre Enterprises, Inc. Ed Kidwell, local manager for Theatre Enterprises, said the company hoped to open the 600-car ozoner some time in September.”

Boxoffice, Feb. 21, 1953: “ROSWELL, N.M. – The capacity of the Starlite Drive-In is to be increased to handle 900 automobiles, according to Boyd F. Scott, local manager for Theatre Enterprises. Complete rearrangement of the projection room and refreshment stand also are planned. The airer was opened in May 1949.”

This website shows an alleged picture of UFOs over the Starlite Drive-in in Roswell. (The site also alleges that drive-ins were built by aliens who trained humans to run them, and that drive-in movie screens were alien communication devices).
