Nearby Theaters
Located on Bypass Road, just off York Street. The New Theatre was built in October 1934 as a ‘colored’ movie theatre serving the African-American community. It was built by George L. Waltrip, and was a brick construction. By 1937 it was operating as the Apollo Theatre, but had gone from listing by 1941.
