Late in its life saw Sid & Nancy, and Yessongs, which usually got a fair crowd.
The Roma also showed Ken Russell’s The Devils back in the early 70s,along with cryptic warnings about the nature of the film (Warner Brothers virtually didn’t want people to see the thing).People flocked to it of course if I remember and it played for a marathon length of time.
The Roma ran my first feature film “GOING DOWN” in 1983 when the majors were too cowardly to come on board. Ran for 14 weeks to full houses.
The air-conditioning unit was also very loud and ruined my seeing films there.
When it was The Roma it seemed to run “This is Spinal Tap” forever! I think I remember it showing The Blues Brothers as well?
