The Columbia Centre 8 multiplex was built in the late-1990’s adjacent to the west side of Columbia Center, as an upgrade to the Columbia Center 3 theaters that were in the east side parking lot overlooking the railroad and river. It was opened by Act III Theaters on November 14, 1997. For a few years, both the Regal and Columbia Center 3 were active at the same time.

The 8-screen multiplex now stands where the Pay ‘N Save department store used to be. It was closed on July 23, 2018.
