Ward Wright was the owner and operator of the Tower Theatre and Grove Theater during their years of operation in Gadsden. Wright had enjoyed such success with his first two theatres that plans were under way to open a third one on U.S. 278, near the Gadsden-Hokes Bluff city limits. The Ranch W Drive-In opened July 19, 1952, on the Piedmont Highway. It only operated for a season, closing later in 1952.

I think I have found it @ 2130 US Hwy 278 Highway, Gadsden, AL 35903. On Drive-ins.com there is a opening day ad for it. Built in 1951 and opened in 1952. Closed in 1952. Anymore information would be great.
Going east it was just outside of Gadsden in Hokes Bluff,less than a mile. I can just barely remember the old sign.
