The 12-screen Galaxy Monroe opened on August 24 2000 as Galaxy Theatres first Washington location. They currently have six 3D auditoriums and D-BOX motion chairs.
The Seattle Times noted that Monroe hadn’t had a theater since the days before television and that residents would no longer have to go to Woodinville or Everett for first-run movies.

The Galaxy 12 Theatre in Monroe, Washington, was designed by the Estes Park, Colorado, architectural firm Thorp Associates. It is one of ten of the firm’s cinema designs that is featured on this page of their web site.
