The Prince of Wales Theatre was officially opened on Monday 12th November 1923 by the local Federal MP Billy Hughes (who had recently stepped down as Australian Prime Minister after eight years). This photo is of the audience on that opening night, viewed from the stage, as they are about to see the feature attraction: Douglas Fairbanks in United Artists’ Robin Hood.
