Picture House

Located in Bellshill, Lanarkshire. The Bellshill Theatre was opened as a variety theatre in 1904. It became the Picture Theatre was opened in September 1911. It was part of the Thomas Ormiston circuit, based in Motherwell.

They were taken over by the Gaumont British Theatres chain in March 1928, and it was operated by Denman/Gaumont. It was always advertised as the Picture Theatre, but the name on the façade was Picture House.

It was closed by Circuits Management Association(Rank Organisation) on 20th December 1958. The façade and front section of the building was demolished and the auditorium was altered, and converted into an indoor market.
