Located in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The New Town Hall was built in 1901. In 1913, while the Picturedrome (aka Blake’s Theatre) was being enlarged by adding a circle, the owners Jim and Archie Blake took over the New Town Hall to continue showing films while the building work was being carried out. Films were shown at the New Town Hall from 7th July 1913 until 4th October 1913, when the Picturedrome re-opened.
In 2011, plans were proposed to convert the New Town Hall, now known as Hitchin Town Hall, into a museum. It is a Grade II Listed building.
