Located in Seaford, East Sussex, just over 8 miles west of Eastbourne. The Empire Cinema was opened around 1913. It was equipped with a British Thomson Houston(BTH) sound system in the early-1930’s, and it was taken over by Cinema Services (Birmingham) Ltd. a company operated by Oscar Deutsch, but it was never part of his Odeon Theatres Ltd. chain. In around 1931, Mrs I. Merriman Langdon purchased the lease from Oscar Deutsch.
The Empire Cinema was badly damaged by a serious fire in 1939, and never re-opened.
