Located in Royston, near Barnsley, Yorkshire, at the corner of Midland Road and Victoria Road. The Empire Cinema was opened in the early-1910’s and presented films and some variety turns. It had closed by 1934.
For many years the former Empire Cinema became a shirt factory, manufacturing quality ‘Valusta’ shirts. By 2009, it was in use as ‘The Bike Factory, selling bicycles and accessories.
