The Parkway Drive-In opened on May 5, 1955. The opening night attraction was “Submarine Command”. The drive-in boasted a screen measuring 110' x 55'. Advertisement stated it was the world’s largest screen and also the worlds largest drive-in cafeteria. A note on this drive-in and the 231 Drive-In., the back of the drive-in lots butted up to each other. The Parkway Drive-In’s last day of operation was February 12, 1978. R.C. Cobb Inc. operated the drive-in from 1964 until its closing.

This property is now empty of all the remains or ruins of the previous theater. Satellite and drive-by views show the parking lines for the two screen lots, but little else remains. The property is now fronted by a small used car dealership on Memorial Parkway.
By 1972 newspapers advertised both the Parkway and Woody’s Drive-In as Cobb Theatres.
Here’s a song I wrote based on my time spent at this particular theater… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rISysV0Rf0
