The Brookley Theatre was open in the mid-1940’s. Seating was listed at 950. It was a rather large theatre and was operated by Giddens & Rester. The theatre closed in the early-1960’s and has since been demolished. There is a park where the theatre once stood.
Any additional information on the Brookley Theatre would be appreciated.

I believe that originally this theater was in a shopping center on the west side of Michigan Ave. at the end of the viaduct leading into Brookely Field. After Interstate 10 was built, this property was converted into a motel, and has since been demolished. I have been told there was a base theater in Brookley, bit I’m not quite sure where it was or if the building still strands.
One of these says, I need to learn how to speel.
