Opened on July 1, 1948 with Dan Duryea in “Black Bart”. It was just at a time as movie attendances were beginning to decline. Gooding, a town of only a few thousand people, already had the old Schubert Theatre only a few blocks away.
The Gooding Theatre was closed on January 30, 1960, used in the meantime for a variety of other businesses, with a boarded-over marquee the only evidence that it ever was a theatre.

Address is 546 Main Street, not 841. 1951 photo added credit Randi Lee, whose family built the Gooding Theatre.
Have added opening day advertisement.
