The new Rio Theatre became the second location of the Joy Theatre in town at 312 N Cushing Avenue in Kaplan. The original Rio Theatre burned down in 1943 and was rebuilt. At right, the renamed theatre’s front is removed and inside are gutted to create a Vee’s five and dime store.
